Kadeco has announced the start of a pre-market engagement exercise in connection with a design tender for the development of a Masterplan for the Keflavik Airport Development area. Current focus is on the development of areas that will strengthen the connections between the airport and the Helguvík harbour site, and between Keflavik Airport and the neighbouring municipalities and capital area. 

Over the past decade, the Keflavík airport area has been Iceland’s fastest growing region, attracting new families and talented individuals both domestically and from abroad.

By diversifying the peninsula’s economy and taking a holistic urban planning approach to the entire region, the development plan seeks to enhance Keflavík’s attractiveness as a place to live, work, and visit.
