Kadeco has formally launched a design tender for the Keflavik Airport Area Strategic Masterplan. The tender has been advertised on the EEA web Tenders Electronic Daily. In the first phase of the tender, interested participants will answer a questionnaire. The top five scoring parties will then be invited to a second phase of the process.  

Kadeco’s key objective is to strengthen the airport area’s international competitiveness and enhance its attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit. To that end, Kadeco seeks the services of an experienced multidisciplinary design and economic development team to support on the Keflavik Airport Area Strategic Masterplan.

Kadeco plans to announce the five teams that will be invited to the second phase this summer and before year-end the winning proposition will be announced. Throughout the process, inhabitants of the Reykjanes Peninsula and other stakeholders are encouraged to participate in an open consultation about the future of the area.
