Residents and businesses at Ásbrú are now receiving invoices for land lease payments from the Keflavík Airport Development Company (Kadeco). This is because the Icelandic state owns all land at Ásbrú and has assigned Kadeco to collect land lease fees from those who live or operate a business in the area. Payment claims have already been issued in online banking, and paper invoices will also be sent by mail in the coming days.
In addition, Reykjanesbær collects property taxes as usual for residential and commercial buildings, and therefore residents and business operators will receive two invoices:
· Kadeco – land lease
· Reykjanesbær – property taxes
This is because the Icelandic state is the landowner at Ásbrú, while Reykjanesbær is responsible for planning matters in the area.
